Setting up a large Hamster Cage | Our Hamster Cage tour – The Hoopsters
After a couple of weeks living in their Zolux Trio hamster cage, our 2 dwarf hamsters decided they wanted their own space. What started out as a lovely space that they played in, turned into an aggressive squeak toward each other. Being prepared that this may happen. we started to look at a new cage.
Taking Youtube viewers comment on board we bought a bigger cage (each) with the recommended dimensions of 80cm x 50cm x 50cm. It was also noted that Aspen wood shavings are the preferred option. As we couldn’t be sure the wood shavings we were getting was aspen, we switched to a paper-based bedding.
Food was Burgess Dwarf Hamster food as Nature’s Touch Hamster Museli.
One other thing that we swapped out was the wheel. It was commented that a hamster wheel needed to be a minimum of 6.5 Inches. so we swapped out the squeaky included one, to be the right size and a silent motion.
